Dr. Allyson Walker
Allyson is the founder and President of Cornerstone. She holds a Doctorate in human development from Harvard University and a Masters Degree in Educational Research from the University of Pittsburgh. She is the former Acting Director of the Pittsburgh Public Schools’ Research Division. A program evaluator and developmental psychologist, her areas of expertise encompass survey research, qualitative methodologies, instrument development, technical writing and presentations.
Ms. Marilyn Spisak
Marilyn works with Cornerstone as a research specialist, data base manager and contributing writer. She has an extensive background in marketing, business management and education. She holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh with an emphasis in Marketing and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Chatham College with a degree in English.
Mr. Robert Goldbach
Bob is a Cornerstone Associate serving as a statistician and data analyst. He holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from Duquesne University. Bob is a Research and Evaluation Specialist at Olszak Management Consulting, Inc.
Dr. Christine Neuwirth
Christine is a Cornerstone Associate who conducts ‘usability studies’ as part of the evaluation of educational web sites. She is Professor of English and Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University.
Ms. Claire Palmgren
Claire is a Cornerstone Associate with expertise in program evaluation, assessment of risk perceptions and communicating technical information to lay audiences. She earned a BS degree in Public Policy and Management and a Masters Degree in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. For ten years prior to entering graduate school, Claire worked on risk communication projects, leaving her with a broad range of skills and knowledge in the quantitative and qualitative assessment field.
Ms. Sally Tarhi
Sally is a Cornerstone Associate who serves as a research specialist and contributing writer. She has an extensive background in grant proposal preparation to government agencies and corporate and private foundations. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, board development, volunteer training and recognition, major gift solicitation, development/fundraising software, annual campaigns, partnership programs and special event planning. Sally is an independent development consultant.
Dr. Beverly Loy Taylor
Beverly is a Cornerstone Associate who is a contributing writer of both reports and technical manuals. She is a training and development consultant who has worked primarily with corporations in developing training manuals and specialized handbooks. Beverly has degrees in English, journalism and curriculum design.
Mr. Gabe Yu
Gabe is a Cornerstone Associate who transcribes recorded interviews. He is the lab manager for the Alice Team, a research group in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He has a BA in creative writing from CMU.
